Before I founded my floral and event design business, I worked as an IT Trainer and Consultant for almost 20 years. I traveled all over the world training companies on how to use new software. This was not what I studied in college. My degree was in Chemical Engineering. However, I loved being in a classroom and engaging with others. Classes were not just about teaching someone how to use a new system, but also about understanding their struggles as they change from one system to another.

In 2019 I took a big dive and left my IT career to fully focus on my design business. I had started the company in 2009, not yet sure if it was something I could handle full time. As a young adult, I had wanted to go into the arts but was not encouraged to do so. Ten years later, I felt a calling to leave the IT world and jump full time into my business. I have never regretted that decision.

Today, I am compelled to combine my passion for design and teaching and offer what I do best to other talented designers who want to explore their creative side.

I created the Nadine De Leon Institute for this purpose.

Many of my students are like I was at one point, holding a full-time job but wanting to do what they are really passionate about. They may not know how to start or how to expand on their talents, but they do know that it’s something they love to do. I am able to connect with them because I know how it feels to be doing something you may not find your true passion in. I am also able to encourage them, and be the inspiration to them so they can realize that their dream is possible.

Floral and event design classes are where I am in my element. It’s where all things I am passionate about come together; design, service, and people connection. I don’t just teach them how to design a floral arrangement; I share with them that their dreams can become a reality. Because if they can for me, they can for them as well.
